Classic Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Frozen strawberries, banana, yogurt and milk. The smoothie most people start with, made thick and cold without ice.
- 5 min prep
- 1 smoothie (about 14 oz)
- 4 ingredients

Frozen strawberries instead of ice keep the flavor strong. A fresh banana is fine here, because the strawberries already make the smoothie cold.
Plain yogurt makes it creamy; vanilla yogurt makes it sweeter.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (about 150 g) frozen strawberries
- 1 medium banana, fresh or frozen
- ½ cup (about 120 g) plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
- ½ cup (120 ml) milk
Method
- Pour the milk into the blender, then add the yogurt.
- Add the strawberries and banana. Blend for 45–60 seconds, until smooth.
- Add a splash of milk if it's too thick. Pour and drink right away.
Tips for the best texture
- Watery smoothie? Fresh strawberries plus ice usually cause it. Frozen strawberries give a thicker result.
- If the strawberries are sour, use a ripe banana with brown spots to sweeten it.
- Halve the recipe for a kid-size smoothie.
