Recipe card: Mixed Berry Greek Yogurt Smoothie with frozen mixed berries, Greek yogurt, milk and optional honey

A bag of frozen mixed berries is the easiest smoothie ingredient there is: no washing, no chopping, and it makes the smoothie cold and thick at the same time.

Berries are tart, so taste before you add honey. Bags with strawberries in them make a sweeter smoothie than raspberries or blackberries alone.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (about 140 g) frozen mixed berries
  • ½ cup (about 115 g) plain Greek yogurt
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

Method

  1. Pour the milk into the blender, then add the Greek yogurt.
  2. Add the frozen berries. Blend for 45–60 seconds, until smooth.
  3. Taste it. If it's too tart, add the honey and blend for 5 more seconds. Pour and drink right away.

Tips for the best texture

  • If the berries stall the blender, stop, stir with a spoon and blend again. Add more milk only if you have to.
  • Raspberry and blackberry seeds stay in the smoothie. If they bother you, use strawberries and blueberries instead.
  • Half a ripe banana sweetens it without honey and makes it creamier.
